ARRIVAL

Day 2
BYZANTINE & OTTOMAN RELICS TOUR
You will be picked up from the hotel sometime between 08.30 am and 09.00 for the full day Byzantine and Ottoman Relics Tour.
In the heart of the «Old City» you will stumble upon:
You will start the day with a visit to Hagia Sophia which contains Ottoman and Byzantine works within its marvellous structure. Listen to its history and examine the architecture together with an experienced tour guide. Next stop is Topkapı Palace that was for more than four centuries the imperial residence of the Ottoman sultans and the administrative heart of the empire. Then, make a visit to the Blue Mosque with six minarets, which was built at the bequest of Sultan Ahmet I, and is one of the best preserved and most significant examples of Ottoman architecture. Continue to Hippodrome where chariot races were held. It was the social and political center of Byzantine Empire for a thousand years and of Ottoman’s for another four hundred years. From Hipoddrome, make your way to Şerefiye Cistern that is one of the Roman city’ three majör cistern. While visiting the cistern, you will not be able to help thinking of how great a civilization has lived and has been living in Istanbul.

You will be picked up from the hotel sometime between 08.30 am and 09.00 for the half day tour.

Explore the city on your own or join our half day tour.

You will be picked up from the hotel sometime between 08.30 am and 09.00 for the half day optional tour. Walking tour starts from Fener&Balat; take the ferry from Golden Horn to Üsküdar; Walk in Kuzguncuk.
Transfer to airport from the hotel.
*Please be ready at your hotel’s lobby 4 hours prior to your flight time for your airport transfer.

Topkapı Palace is closed on Tuesday, it will be replaced with Istanbul Archaeology Museums.

There are no shopping stops made during our tour but if our guests would like to do some shopping following the conclusion of the tour we can be of assistance.

It is advised to wear conservative clothing when visiting mosques and churches.

Please wear comfortable shoes which are also easy to take off since this tour is a walking tour and includes mosque visits.
